Brandied Oranges | a simple and elegant dessert

This is one of my most favourite desserts and I’ve been making it for years. It’s fuss free and a real winner at any dinner party.

I’ve adapted this recipe substituting the sugar with fructose, and I can honestly say it’s still wonderful!

Brandied Oranges is a dessert that you can prepare ahead of time, even the day. To be honest by doing so your ensuring that the oranges will absorb all the syrupy flavour and taste even better.

The oranges are peeled and sliced and then covered with a sweet syrup infused with brandy and Grand Marnier.

If you have children, no worries, I just use the alcohol free syrup to cover their oranges and then add the alcohol into the remaining syrup for the adults. Just make sure you remember which is which! Probably best to use different glasses for the non-alcoholic option.

You can serve it chilled topped with a dollop of dairy free cream or ice-cream.
